The TH1100RP Premium Headphones represent the pinnacle of Fostex’s audio engineering, combining their proprietary RP planar magnetic driver technology with exquisite craftsmanship. These open-back headphones deliver a natural sound field with high resolution and minimal listening fatigue, ideal for both professional and audiophile applications.

Crafted with a solid hard maple wood housing, the TH1100RP features the traditional Aizome dyeing technique from Tokushima, Japan. This process involves skilled artisans hand-dyeing the wood with Awa Aizome, an indigo dye known for its rich and luxurious appearance. The result is a deep indigo color that highlights the unique grain of each piece of maple wood, making every headphone set unique.

The RP planar magnetic driver technology used in the TH1100RP has been refined since its development in 1974. The newly developed planar diaphragm is larger than those in previous models, and the redesigned magnetic circuit optimizes magnetic flux distribution. This enhances high sensitivity, smooth frequency response, and excellent transient characteristics, enabling precise and delicate sound reproduction across a wide frequency range.

Additional features of the TH1100RP include lightweight magnesium alloy mechanical parts that reduce overall weight by 20% compared to aluminum, enhancing comfort during extended use. The headphones also feature asymmetrical ear pads made from low-resilience cushions and silk protein synthetic leather for durability and comfort, a flexible fitting head pad and headband made of natural sheepskin, and high-purity OFC unbalanced cables to ensure optimal audio transmission​.
